Poland
Around 11% of the Polish population (equivalent to 1.5 million households) is affected by energy poverty. Low incomes are the main cause of energy poverty, leading to households needing help to adequately meet their energy needs. Families lives in dates single-family homes that are difficult to heat and prioritise paying energy bills at the expense of other essential goods and services. All of which results in the use of low-quality fuels and outdated heating systems and stoves, exacerbating energy inefficiency and discomfort.
