The European Commission is on a roll. After proposing to destroy Europe’s corporate sustainability law, they now want to attack various food laws, including on pesticide protection.
A leaked proposal from the European Commission would dismantle the system that prevents harmful chemicals from polluting our food, water, and ecosystems. These changes are part of a broader move in which the Commission is rolling back environmental and health safeguards to prioritise industry interests and short-term economic gains.
This is not about small technical tweaks, it is a full-scale rollback of decades of protections, putting public health, nature, and farmers at risk. It echoes pesticide lobby demands while completely ignoring the public interest.
We need citizen mobilisation urgently. On December 16, the EU Commission will present their final plan before it is discussed with EU Member States and the Parliament. There is time to act: raise your voice for safe food and nature free from toxic pesticides!
HOW? Use this tool below to tell the EU Commissioner from your country to block these changes and change the focus to ban harmful pesticides. Choose a message and adapt it as you like. Refresh the page to get a new proposal. Select the receiver and click ‘send’.

Suggested Short Phone Script
“Hello, my name is [Your Name], I am calling as a concerned citizen of [Your Country]. I am calling about the upcoming Food & Safety omnibus proposal that reportedly includes a provision to make pesticide approvals indefinite.
I want to express my deep concern. I believe that indefinite pesticide approvals would weaken essential safeguards for public health, biodiversity and the environment. Periodic re-evaluation of pesticides is crucial to ensure ongoing safety and to take into account new scientific evidence.
I urge you to not to include this proposal and to maintain strict, time-limited authorisation with mandatory re-assessments.
Thank you for listening. I hope you will take citizens’ concerns into account during your deliberations.“
You may also briefly state: “I would appreciate confirmation that my message will be forwarded to the relevant Commissioner / decision-makers.”
