Friends of the Earth Europe together with over 100 environmental, climate and human rights organisations from Europe and beyond is calling on the European Parliament and EU Member States to close the loopholes in the proposed European Commission’s regulation to tackle EU-driven global deforestation.
The statement highlights key policy demands that the European Parliament and Member States need to include in the current proposal to ensure that the regulation is truly fit for purpose and meets the EU’s climate and biodiversity targets.
