The next five years are crucial for humanity. The European Union must prioritise people, our environment, and climate in every policy decision to bring our societies within sustainable limits. Now is not the time to slow down, on the contrary: bold and urgent action is needed to tackle the climate and ecological emergency. Europe must lead the way with a green and socially fair transition, achieving a fossil-free energy system by 2030 and supporting Global South countries. We must dismantle the excessive power of corporations, strengthen people power, and ensure a democratic and open society.
Here are our demands for the newly elected EU institutions to make this happen:
- Moving beyond growth and ensuring economic and resource justice
- Ending fossil gas, energy poverty and securing real energy solutions
- Transforming the food and agricultural sector
- Protecting biodiversity and nature
- Strengthening people power
