The eight Millenium Development Goals (MDGs) developed by the United Nations (UN) in 2000, aim to encourage development by improving social and economic conditions in the world’s poorest countries.
However, it is widely accepted that the MDGs will not be met due to unfulfilled political and financial commitments.
Sub-Saharan Africa is a sad example of these dysfunctions.
