On July 25 the European Court of Justice (ECJ) will rule whether a new generation of genetically modified seeds and foods – so-called ‘GMO 2.0’ – should be fully regulated as GMOs. This briefing sets out what this case is about, what the court’s potential rulings might be, and the impacts would be for our food and farming system, and what our politicians need to do next to avoid GMOs being grown on our fields.
