Do you want to be part of building a movement on energy solutions? Do you think that the renewable transition should be in the hands of communities and citizens not big corporations?
Then register now to join us in September.
We want to gather people together to share practical skills for how to create energy cooperatives and community energy projects, to share stories of victories and ongoing struggles and to gather stories to grow the movement of people owning and controlling energy.
We think we need a gathering like this because different groups, projects and campaigns working in different ways on energy democracy across Europe exist but they are often not well connected outside of the national context. There are also very different contexts regionally. For example, in Eastern Europe, energy democracy is in the early stages and there is a lot of resistance from the State and corporations.
We are hosted in Spain by Som Energia and Amigos de la Tierra, and the Spanish context will provide an important backdrop to our conversations.
We are particularly interested in bringing together people who are already involved in a community energy project or who are part of a group who want to get involved. The event is also open to activists and campaigners fighting to make our energy system renewable and democratic.
Registration is open until the end of July and we will inform successful applicants by the 11th of August.
