Background
Friends of the Earth Europe (FoEE) campaigns at the heart of Europe for sustainable and just societies and for the protection of the environment. We are the largest grassroots environmental network in Europe, uniting 32 national organisations with thousands of local groups as part of Friends of the Earth International. Our vision is of a peaceful and sustainable world, founded on social, economic, racial, gender and environmental justice and free from all forms of domination and exploitation.
Our Brussels office coordinates our network’s joint campaigns and pushes for action by the EU to protect people and the planet. The organisation has 30 members of staff who are based in Brussels. Together we campaign for Climate Justice, Economic Justice, Food Justice, Resource Justice and to maintain and increase biodiversity. Background
FoE Europe campaigns to deliver policy and practice changes at European institutions and corporations. We have been campaigning for an end to the use of fossil fuels, in particular gas, for many years and have a short term need for additional capacity through to the end of 2023.
The task for the consultant is to support the FoEE climate justice and energy team’s gas campaigning with a particular emphasis on supporting our advocacy, campaigning and communications.
The task of the consultant
FoEE is seeking a consultant to:
- Support the programme in the delivery of a number of campaign deliverables including:
- Campaign materials
- Public events
- Media and social media products
- Support the programme coordinator in developing future strategies in this area
Duration and location
The consultancy is expected to be 3 days a week till end of February 2024. Location is flexible, Brussels-based is desirable.
