There is growing international recognition that fundamental changes are needed in the food system and our approach to agriculture to deal with a range of major global challenges. Persistent hunger and growing inequalities, malnutrition and massive wastages, as well as climate change and the
collapse of biodiversity all indicate that the way we manage resources and produce food is not well and far from being sustainable.
